Daily Thoughts

In the Old Testament I read a prophecy that in the last days a House of the Lord would be established in the mountains and all nations would flow unto it. Many people would go to hear the word of God and be taught of His ways. Isa. 2: 2-3 "And it shall come to pass in the last days, that the mountain of the Lord's house shall be established in the top of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills; and all nations shall flow unto it. And many people shall go and say, Come ye, and let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of the Lord from Jerusalem."

In the Book of Mormon I read about Ammon glorying in the Lord and rejoicing in the miracle of so many of his brethren being loosed from the pains of hell through the Lord's redeeming love. Alma 26: 13-16 "Behold, how many thousands of our brethren has he loosed from the pains of hell; and they are brought to sing redeeming love, and this because of the power of his word which is in us, therefore have we not great reason to rejoice? Yea, we have reason to praise him forever, for he is the Most High God, and has loosed our brethren from the chains of hell. Yea, they were encircled about with everlasting darkness and destruction; but behold, he has brought them into his everlasting light, yea, into everlasting salvation; and they are encircled about with the matchless bounty of his love; yea, and we have been instruments in his hands of doing this great and marvelous work. Therefore, let us glory, yea, we will glory in the Lord; yea, we will rejoice, for our joy is full; yea, we will praise our God forever. Behold, who can glory too much in the Lord? Yea, who can say too much of his great power, and of his mercy, and of his long-suffering towards the children of men? Behold, I say unto you, I cannot say the smallest part which I feel."

A verse from a thought booklet tells us that every living thing and the breath of all mankind is in the Lord's hand. Every breath we take is a gift from God. Job 12: 10 "In whose hand is the soul of every living thing, and the breath of all mankind."
