In the Old Testament it says that we need to look unto the Lord to be saved. He is our God, and there is none else. Isa. 45: 22 "Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth: for I am God, and there is none else."
In the Book of Mormon I read that a hundredth part of what transpired among the people could not be written. What we have is only a small part of what actually took place. Hel. 3: 14 "But behold, a hundredth part of the proceedings of this people, yea, the account of the Lamanites and of the Nephites, and their wars, and contentions, and dissensions, and their preaching, and their prophecies, and their shipping and their building of ships, and their building of temples, and of synagogues and their sanctuaries, and their righteousness, and their wickedness, and their murders, and their robbings, and their plundering, and all manner of abominations and whoredoms, cannot be contained in this work."
Some verses with a thought booklet tell us that Jesus told His disciples ahead of time what would happen to Him--He would be betrayed, condemned to death, mocked scourged, and crucified. But on the third day He would rise again. Matt. 20: 17-19 "And Jesus going up to Jerusalem took the twelve disciples apart in the way, and said unto them, Behold, we go up to Jerusalem; and the Son of man shall be betrayed unto the chief priests and unto the scribes, and they shall condemn him to death, And shall deliver him to the Gentiles to mock, and to scourge, and to crucify him: and the third day he shall rise again."
