In the Old Testament I read that we can greatly rejoice in the Lord who clothes us with salvation. Just as the earth brings forth buds and things planted in gardens spring forth, so God will cause righteousness and praise to spring forth before all nations. Isa. 61: 10-11 "I will greatly rejoice in the Lord, my soul shall be joyful in my God; for he hath clothed me with the garments of salvation, he hath covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decketh himself with ornaments, and as a bride adorneth herself with her jewels. For as the earth bringeth forth her bud, and as the garden causeth the things that are sown in it to spring forth; so the Lord God will cause righteousness and praise to spring forth before all the nations."
In the Book of Mormon it talks about how through the atonement of Christ, we're given the opportunity to repent and receive redemption. If we repent, we'll be saved but if we refuse to repent, we'll be hewn down and cast out, receiving spiritual death and cut off as to things pertaining to righteouness. So we need to repent now to avoid these things. Hel. 14: 17-19 "But behold, the resurrection of Christ redeemeth mankind, yea, even all mankind, and bringeth them back into the presence of the Lord. Yea, and it bringeth to pass the condition of repentance, that whosoever repenteth the same is not hewn down and cast into the fire; but whosoever repenteth not is hewn down and cast into the fire; and there cometh upon them again a spiritual death, yea, a second death, for they are cut off again as to things pertaining to righteousness. Therefore repent ye, repent ye, lest by knowing these things and not doing them ye shall suffer yourselves to come under condemnation, and ye are brought down unto this second death."
A verse with a thought booklet tells us that the end of the upright man is peace. We're greatly blessed for our righteousness and in the end we'll be rewarded with peace. Our inner peace comes as we turn our lives over to God. Ps. 37: 37 "Mark the perfect man, and behold the upright: for the end of that man is peace."
