Daily Thoughts

In the Old Testament it tells us that the rebellious have eyes to see but will not see and ears to hear but will not hear. Are we sometimes stubborn and rebellious and refuse to see and hear what the Lord wants us to know and understand? General Conference will be coming in just a few days.  How attentive will we be to the messages given?  Ezek. 12: 1-3 "The word of the Lord also came unto me, saying, Son of man, thou dwellest in the midst of a rebellious house, which have eyes to see, and see not; they have ears to hear, and hear not: for they are a rebellious house. Therefore, thou son of man, prepare thee stuff for removing, and remove by day in their sight; and thou shalt remove from thy place to another place in their sight: it may be they will consider, though they be a rebellious house."

In the D&C we read that those who do not believe cannot be redeemed from their spiritual fall because they are unwilling to repent. They love darkness rather than light and their deeds are evil, so they will receive their wages of whom they list to obey. D&C 29: 44-45 "And they that believe not unto eternal damnation; for they cannot be redeemed from their spiritual fall, because they repent not; For they love darkness rather than light, and their deeds are evil, and they receive their wages of whom they list to obey."

Some scriptures with a thought booklet tell us that we are commanded to love one another just as Jesus has loved us. If we do whatever He commands us, we will be His friends. How much love to we show for others?  How willing are we to keep the commandments of the Lord? John 15: 12-14 "This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you. Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you."
