Daily Thoughts

In the Old Testament I read that the Lord will bring His people out of Egypt and gather them. They will pass through the sea of affliction and the Lord will strengthen them. They will walk up and down in the name of the Lord. Zech. 10: 10-12 "I will bring them again also out of the land of Egypt, and gather them out of Assyria; and I will bring them into the land of Gilead and Lebanon; and place shall not be found for them. And he shall pass through the sea with affliction, and shall smite the waves in the sea, and all the deeps of the river shall dry up: and the pride of Assyria shall be brought down, and the sceptre of Egypt shall depart away. And I will strengthen them in the Lord; and they shall walk up and down in his name, saith the Lord."

In the Pearl of Great Price we read that God was angry with the wicked and cursed the earth with a great curse because the works of darkness prevailed among all the sons of men and they would not hearken to the voice of the Lord, nor believe in the Only Begotten Son. Moses 5: 55-57 "And thus the works of darkness began to prevail among all the sons of men. And God cursed the earth with a sore curse, and was angry with the wicked, with all the sons of men whom he had made; For they would not hearken unto his voice, nor believe on his Only Begotten Son, even him whom he declared should come in the meridian of time, who was prepared from before the foundation of the world."

Some scriptures with a thought booklet tell us that if we fully obey the Lord, we will be blessed and there need be no poor among us. Deut. 15: 4-5 "Save when there shall be no poor among you; for the Lord shall greatly bless thee in the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee for an inheritance to possess it: Only if thou carefully hearken unto the voice of the Lord thy God, to observe to do all these commandments which I command thee this day."
