Daily Thoughts

In the Book of Mormon I read that Nephi saw that the people would become a dark and loathsome and filthy people, full of idleness and wickedness and dwlindling in unbelief. They would have many wars among each other. What a sad state for them to fall into after being such an enlightened people at one time. 1 Ne. 12: 21-23 "And I saw them gathered together in multitudes; and I saw wars and rumors of wars among them; and in wars and rumors of wars I saw many generations pass away. And the angel said unto me: Behold these shall dwindle in unbelief. And it came to pass that I beheld, after they had dwindled in unbelief they became a dark, and loathsome, and a filthy people, full of idleness and all manner of abominations."

In the New Testament we read about Jesus healing the sick. Luke 4:38-40 "And he arose out of the synagogue, and entered into Simon's house. And Simon's wife's mother was taken with a great fever; and they besought him for her. And he stood over her, and rebuked the fever; and it left her: and immediately she arose and ministered unto them. Now when the sun was setting, all they that had any sick with divers diseases brought them unto him; and he laid his hands on every one of them, and healed them."

The days of Jesus healing people are not over. Some verses with a thought booklet talk about the joyous day after Christ comes again when the blind will see, the deaf will hear, the lame will leap and dance, and the dumb will sing. Sickness and disabilities will be done away with and all will be made whole! Can you just imagine that joyous day when crutches are thrown aside and wheelchairs are abandoned! Jesus Christ is coming and we can look forward to that wondrous event! Isaiah 35:5-6 "Then the eyes of the blind shall be opened, and the ears of the deaf shall be unstopped. hen shall the lame man leap as an hart, and the tongue of the dumb sing: for in the wilderness shall waters break out, and streams in the desert."
