Daily Thoughts

In the Book of Mormon I read about how the Lord delivered the children of Israel up out of the land of Egypt. After they were bitten by poisenous serpents, they only had to look at the brass serpent to be healed. The Lord gave Moses power to smite the rock and water would come forth. There is no other name given but Jesus Christ by which man may be saved. 2 Ne. 25: 20 "And now, my brethren, I have spoken plainly that ye cannot err. And as the Lord God liveth that brought Israel up out of the land of Egypt, and gave unto Moses power that he should heal the nations after they had been bitten by the poisonous serpents, if they would cast their eyes unto the serpent which he did raise up before them, and also gave him power that he should smite the rock and the water should come forth; yea, behold I say unto you, that as these things are true, and as the Lord God liveth, there is none other name given under heaven save it be this Jesus Christ, of which I have spoken, whereby man can be saved."

In the New Testament I read about the great love that God has for us, and how rich in mercy He is toward us. Ephesians 2:4 "But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us,"

A verse from a thought booklet tells how Jesus healed a man. Jesus asked him to stretch forth his hand, and it was restored like his other hand. If we're in need of healing--physically, emotionally, or spiritually--we can turn to the Lord for healing. But we need to "stretch forth our hand" or reach out to Him. We can do this by calling upon Him in prayer. Matthew 12:13 "Then saith he to the man, Stretch forth thine hand. And he stretched it forth; and it was restored whole, like as the other."
