In the Book of Mormon I read that the Lord wold not allow the wicked to be kept from falling into the hands of their enemies. Indeed, those who refused to keep the commandments would not prosper in the land. However, the righteous would be spared and not perish. In other words, the righteous are rewarded and the wicked punished. Omni 1:5-7 "Behold, it came to pass that three hundred and twenty years had passed away, and the more wicked part of the Nephites were destroyed. For the Lord would not suffer, after he had led them out of the land of Jerusalem and kept and preserved them from falling into the hands of their enemies, yea, he would not suffer that the words should not be verified, which he spake unto our fathers, saying that: Inasmuch as ye will not keep my commandments ye shall not prosper in the land. Wherefore, the Lord did visit them in great judgment; nevertheless, he did spare the righteous that they should not perish, but did deliver them out of the hands of their enemies."
In the New Testament we read that in order to abide in the light, we need to love others. If we claim that we're in the light but hate our brother, we are actually in darkness which blinds our eyes so we don't know which way to go. 1 John 2:9-11 "He that saith he is in the light, and hateth his brother, is in darkness even until now. He that loveth his brother abideth in the light, and there is none occasion of stumbling in him. But he that hateth his brother is in darkness, and walketh in darkness, and knoweth not whither he goeth, because that darkness hath blinded his eyes."
A verse with a thought booklet tells us that the heavens declare the glory of God the firmament shows the work of His hands. Have you ever been out in nature and felt closer to God, who created such a beautiful world for us to live in? His creations testify of Him and reflect His wisdom, power, and beauty. Psalms 19:1 "The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork."
