In the Book of Mormon we're warned to beward of allowing contentions to arise among us, because in doing so we're obeying the evil spirit. Contention is, indeed, of the devil! Mosiah 2:32 "But, O my people, beware lest there shall arise contentions among you, and ye list to obey the evil spirit, which was spoken of by my father Mosiah."
In the New Testament we read that the gospel would be restored in the last days by angelic ministry and preached to every nation, kindred, tongue, and people. Revelation 13:6-7 "And he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme his name, and his tabernacle, and them that dwell in heaven. And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations."
Some scriptures with a thought booklet tell us that the Lord will give wisdom, knowledge, and understanding to those who are righteous and walk uprightly. If we want revelation from the Lord, we need to live worthy to receive it. Proverbs 2:6-7 "For the Lord giveth wisdom: out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding. He layeth up sound wisdom for the righteous: he is a buckler to them that walk uprightly."
