In the Book of Mormon we see the sad end of Korihor who went from house to house begging for food until he was trodden down and died. And from this we see that the devil does not support his children at the last day, but speedily drags them down to hell. Alma 30: 56-60 "And it came to pass that the curse was not taken off of Korihor; but he was cast out, and went about from house to house begging for his food. Now the knowledge of what had happened unto Korihor was immediately published throughout all the land; yea, the proclamation was sent forth by the chief judge to all the people in the land, declaring unto those who had believed in the words of Korihor that they must speedily repent, lest the same judgments would come unto them. And it came to pass that they were all convinced of the wickedness of Korihor; therefore they were all converted again unto the Lord; and this put an end to the iniquity after the manner of Korihor. And Korihor did go about from house to house, begging food for his support. And it came to pass that as he went forth among the people, yea, among a people who had separated themselves from the Nephites and called themselves Zoramites, being led by a man whose name was Zoram—and as he went forth amongst them, behold, he was run upon and trodden down, even until he was dead. And thus we see the end of him who perverteth the ways of the Lord; and thus we see that the devil will not support his children at the last day, but doth speedily drag them down to hell."
In the Old Testament we read that capitol punishment should be used for murderers, but more than one witness needs to testify against them and we should take no satisfaction in their death. Numbers 35:30-31 "Whoso killeth any person, the murderer shall be put to death by the mouth of witnesses: but one witness shall not testify against any person to cause him to die. Moreover ye shall take no satisfaction for the life of a murderer, which is guilty of death: but he shall be surely put to death."
Some verses with a thought booklet tell us to watch the example of the ant and see how she works hard even with no overseer watching her. She goes to work and gets the job done, gathering food for herself. Do we work hard even without a supervisor hovering over us? Do we always put in a full day's work for a full day's pay, or do we slacken off if no one is around to watch us? Do we say that we love work--we could watch it all day long? Our God is a worker. He created the world and everything in it. And He created us to be a people who can contribute something to the world. He gave us minds to think and hands to use to fulfill whatever tasks He has in mind for us. If we're wise, we'll follow the example of the industrious ant and go to work! Proverbs 6:6-8 "Go to the ant, thou sluggard; consider her ways, and be wise: Which having no guide, overseer, or ruler, Provideth her meat in the summer, and gathereth her food in the harvest."
