Daily Thoughts

In the Book of Mormon we read that the sons of Alma went forth among the people declaring the word to them, and even Alma himself also went forth.  They taught according to the spirit of revelation.  Indeed, that is the only way to teach things spiritual things, with the Spirit.  Alma 43:1-2 "And now it came to pass that the sons of Alma did go forth among the people, to declare the word unto them. And Alma, also, himself, could not rest, and he also went forth. Now we shall say no more concerning their preaching, except that they preached the word, and the truth, according to the spirit of prophecy and revelation; and they preached after the holy order of God by which they were called."

In the Old Testament we read the fulfillment of the promises of the Lord.  He helped Joshua conquer all his enemies and take the whole land for an inheritance for Israel.  And finally the land was able to rest from ward.  The Lord does fulfill his promises.  Joshua 11:23 "So Joshua took the whole land, according to all that the Lord said unto Moses; and Joshua gave it for an inheritance unto Israel according to their divisions by their tribes. And the land rested from war."

A verse with a thought booklet tells us that we can stay calm and feel peace, knowing that the Lord will fight for us.  If we're feeling troubled and overwhelmed by the circumstances in our lives, let's remember that we have the Lord fighting for us!  This thought should give us comfort and peace.  Exodus 14:14 "The Lord shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace."
