In the Book of Mormon we read that every good gift comes from Christ and even though different men receive different gifts of the Spirit, they all come from the same God. Moroni 10: 9-18 "For behold, to one is given by the Spirit of God, that he may teach the word of wisdom; And to another, that he may teach the word of knowledge by the same Spirit; And to another, exceedingly great faith; and to another, the gifts of healing by the same Spirit; And again, to another, that he may work mighty miracles; And again, to another, that he may prophesy concerning all things; And again, to another, the beholding of angels and ministering spirits; And again, to another, all kinds of tongues; And again, to another, the interpretation of languages and of divers kinds of tongues. And all these gifts come by the Spirit of Christ; and they come unto every man severally, according as he will. And I would exhort you, my beloved brethren, that ye remember that every good gift cometh of Christ."
In the Old Testament Job testifies that even if God slays him, he will still put his trust in Him. After all the horrible things that Job was suffering, he still trusted in the Lord. What an example for us to follow. Job 13:15 "Though he slay me, yet will I trust in him: but I will maintain mine own ways before him."
Going right along with this, some scriptures with a thought booklet tell us that even if we feel forsaken and forgotten by the Lord, He will never forget us, but we are engraven upon the palms of His hands. A woman is more likely to forget her child and not have compassion upon the baby that she has born than the Lord is to forget about us. It's not going to happen! God loves us, cares for us, and will never forget us. Isaiah 49:14-16 "But Zion said, The Lord hath forsaken me, and my Lord hath forgotten me. Can a woman forget her sucking child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? yea, they may forget, yet will I not forget thee. Behold, I have graven thee upon the palms of my hands; thy walls are continually before me."
