Daily Thoughts

In the D&C we read that if we'll call upon God for help, when we speak or write, it will be given to us in the very hour we need it what we should say.  D&C 24:5-6 "And thou shalt continue in calling upon God in my name, and writing the things which shall be given thee by the Comforter, and expounding all scriptures unto the church. And it shall be given thee in the very moment what thou shalt speak and write, and they shall hear it, or I will send unto them a cursing instead of a blessing."

In the Old Testament we read about how gracious and full of compassion the Lord is.  He is holy and His name is reverend.  When we reverence the Lord, that is the beginning of wisdom and we are able to gain a good understanding.  Psalms 111:1-10 "Praise ye the Lord. I will praise the Lord with my whole heart, in the assembly of the upright, and in the congregation.  The works of the Lord are great, sought out of all them that have pleasure therein. His work is honourable and glorious: and his righteousness endureth for ever. He hath made his wonderful works to be remembered: the Lord is gracious and full of compassion. He hath given meat unto them that fear him: he will ever be mindful of his covenant. He hath shewed his people the power of his works, that he may give them the heritage of the heathen. The works of his hands are verity and judgment; all his commandments are sure. They stand fast for ever and ever, and are done in truth and uprightness.  He sent redemption unto his people: he hath commanded his covenant for ever: holy and reverend is his name. The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do his commandments: his praise endureth for ever."

Some scriptures with a thought booklet remind us of how vital it is that we forgive others.  In fact, if we're willing to forgive those who have trespassed against us, the Lord will likewise be willing to forgive us for our trespasses.  Matthew 6:12-15 "And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen. For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you: But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses."
