Daily Thoughts

*Note:  I'll be sending my Daily Thoughts out the night before this week, since I won't have time to get on my computer in the mornings due to attending BYU Education Week.

In the D&C we read that if we are faithful and endure to the end we will inherit eternal life.  D&C 50:5 "But blessed are they who are faithful and endure, whether in life or in death, for they shall inherit eternal life."

In the Old Testament we read about how Zion and her stakes will be perfected.  The Lord is our Judge, Lawgiver, and King, and He will save us.  Isaiah 33:20-22 "Look upon Zion, the city of our solemnities: thine eyes shall see Jerusalem a quiet habitation, a tabernacle that shall not be taken down; not one of the stakes thereof shall ever be removed, neither shall any of the cords thereof be broken. But there the glorious Lord will be unto us a place of broad rivers and streams; wherein shall go no galley with oars, neither shall gallant ship pass thereby. For the Lord is our judge, the Lord is our lawgiver, the Lord is our king; he will save us."

Some verses with a thought booklet tell us that before we approach God in worship, we need to go and straighten things out with any person we have a conflict with.  If we harbor bad feelings toward another person, we can't feel the Spirit of the Lord in our lives and it interferes with our relationship with the Lord.  Sometimes it's hard to go to the person we've had a disagreement with and try to reconcile things, especially if we don't feel that we're in the wrong at all.  But what a peace and relief it is when we can find forgiveness in our hearts, or perhaps clear up a misunderstanding.  Allowing grudges to grow doesn't help anyone and can make us miserable.  As we seek the Lord's help, let's take the initiative toward healing our relationships with others so that our relationship with God can flourish unimpeded.  Matthew 5:23-26 "Therefore if thou bring thy gift to the altar, and there rememberest that thy brother hath ought against thee; Leave there thy gift before the altar, and go thy way; first be reconciled to thy brother, and then come and offer thy gift. Agree with thine adversary quickly, whiles thou art in the way with him; lest at any time the adversary deliver thee to the judge, and the judge deliver thee to the officer, and thou be cast into prison. Verily I say unto thee, Thou shalt by no means come out thence, till thou hast paid the uttermost farthing."
