Daily Thoughts Today
In the D&C we read the powerful testimony of Joseph Smith that God and Jesus Christ live, for he and Sidney Rigdon saw them. D&C 76:22-24 "And now, after the many testimonies which have been given of him, this is the testimony, last of all, which we give of him: That he lives! For we saw him, even on the right hand of God; and we heard the voice bearing record that he is the Only Begotten of the Father— That by him, and through him, and of him, the worlds are and were created, and the inhabitants thereof are begotten sons and daughters unto God."
In the Old Testament we read about the great pride and haughtiness of Moab, and how the Lord would break it down and destroy it. This is the fate of anyone who magnifies themselves against the Lord. Jeremiah 48:29, 38-42 "We have heard the pride of Moab, (he is exceeding proud) his loftiness, and his arrogancy, and his pride, and the haughtiness of his heart. There shall be lamentation generally upon all the housetops of Moab, and in the streets thereof: for I have broken Moab like a vessel wherein is no pleasure, saith the Lord. They shall howl, saying, How is it broken down! how hath Moab turned the back with shame! so shall Moab be a derision and a dismaying to all them about him. For thus saith the Lord; Behold, he shall fly as an eagle, and shall spread his wings over Moab. Kerioth is taken, and the strong holds are surprised, and the mighty men's hearts in Moab at that day shall be as the heart of a woman in her pangs. And Moab shall be destroyed from being a people, because he hath magnified himself against the Lord."
A verse with a thought booklet tells us that the Lord will instruct us, guide us, and teach us which way to go. Driving in unfamiliar places, I've sometimes relied solely on my GPS to get me where I needed to go. And most of the time it does a good job, even when it seems like it's leading me in the wrong direction at times. But occasionally it does make mistakes, like the time it told me to drive the wrong way on a one way street, or the time it told me to "navigate off road" in the middle of a bridge high over a river! But the Lord will always direct us in the right way to go. He is more accurate than any GPS can be and we can safely put our trust in Him. Psalms 32:8 " I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye."
