Daily Thoughts

In the D&C we read that those who receive the everlasting covenant, even the fulness of the gospel, will be made partakers of the glories written of by the prophets and apostles of old.  D&C 66:2 "Verily I say unto you, blessed are you for receiving mine everlasting covenant, even the fulness of my gospel, sent forth unto the children of men, that they might have life and be made partakers of the glories which are to be revealed in the last days, as it was written by the prophets and apostles in days of old."

In the Old Testament we read that the Lord will satiate our weary souls and replenish our sorrowful souls.  When we're sad and weary, we can turn to the Lord for relief.  Jeremiah 31:25 "For I have satiated the weary soul, and I have replenished every sorrowful soul."

Some scriptures with a thought booklet tell us that if we are blessed with worldly goods and see someone else in need but refuse to give to them, the love of God does not dwell with us.  We can't just say we love others, we need to show our love by our actions.  And turning our backs on those in need while we have it within our means to help them, is not demonstrating the love that we should have.  If we truly love others, we'll do what we can to help them.  1 John 3:17-18 "But whoso hath this world's good, and seeth his brother have need, and shutteth up his bowels of compassion from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him?  My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth."
