Daily Thoughts

In the D&C we're commanded to love and serve the Lord and keep His commandments.  D&C 59: 5-8 "Wherefore, I give unto them a commandment, saying thus: Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, with all thy might, mind, and strength; and in the name of Jesus Christ thou shalt serve him. Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself. Thou shalt not steal; neither commit adultery, nor kill, nor do anything like unto it. Thou shalt thank the Lord thy God in all things. Thou shalt offer a sacrifice unto the Lord thy God in righteousness, even that of a broken heart and a contrite spirit."

In the Old Testament we read another verse where the Lord calls Israel to repentance, beckoning them to return to Him and He will put away all their abominations out of His sight.  If we're willing to repent, the Lord is willing to forgive us. Jeremiah 4:1 "If thou wilt return, O Israel, saith the Lord, return unto me: and if thou wilt put away thine abominations out of my sight, then shalt thou not remove."

A verse with a thought booklet tells us that God does not give us a spirit of fear, but rather of love, power, and a sound mind.  If we're worried and afraid, we can know that these feelings do not come from God, but we can turn to Him to help us overcome them.  2 Timothy 1:7 "For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind."
