Daily Thoughts

In the D&C we read a wonderful verse that's almost like a poem in describing the heavens and the earth.  D&C 88:45 "The earth rolls upon her wings, and the sun giveth his light by day, and the moon giveth her light by night, and the stars also give their light, as they roll upon their wings in their glory, in the midst of the power of God."

In the Old Testament we read about how the Lord would send destruction to the wicked nations and destroy their idols.  Ezekiel 30:12-17 "And I will make the rivers dry, and sell the land into the hand of the wicked: and I will make the land waste, and all that is therein, by the hand of strangers: I the Lord have spoken it. Thus saith the Lord God; I will also destroy the idols, and I will cause their images to cease out of Noph; and there shall be no more a prince of the land of Egypt: and I will put a fear in the land of Egypt.  And I will make Pathros desolate, and will set fire in Zoan, and will execute judgments in No.  And I will pour my fury upon Sin, the strength of Egypt; and I will cut off the multitude of No. And I will set fire in Egypt: Sin shall have great pain, and No shall be rent asunder, and Noph shall have distresses daily. The young men of Aven and of Pi-beseth shall fall by the sword: and these cities shall go into captivity."

A verse with a thought booklet tells us it is better to have little but be righteous than to have great worldly wealth without doing right.  Sometimes people will use dishonest business practices in order to get ahead financially--cheating other people, misrepresenting products, or selling inferior merchandise.  Any extra money they may gain from such things will not be worth it in the end. What really matters is our relationship with the Lord. We can't take our money with us when we die, so how much money we had will be of no importance then.   Proverbs 16:8 "Better is a little with righteousness than great revenues without right."
