Daily Thoughts

In the D&C we read that if we don't keep the commandments, the love of the Father won't continue with us and we will walk in darkness.  D&C 95:12 "If you keep not my commandments, the love of the Father shall not continue with you, therefore you shall walk in darkness."

In the Old Testament we read about how Daniel fasted, prayed, and confessed the sins of Israel--how they had now kept the commandments of the Lord and had rebelled, done wickedly, and had not hearkened to the prophets.  Daniel 9:3-6 "And I set my face unto the Lord God, to seek by prayer and supplications, with fasting, and sackcloth, and ashes: And I prayed unto the Lord my God, and made my confession, and said, O Lord, the great and dreadful God, keeping the covenant and mercy to them that love him, and to them that keep his commandments; We have sinned, and have committed iniquity, and have done wickedly, and have rebelled, even by departing from thy precepts and from thy judgments: Neither have we hearkened unto thy servants the prophets, which spake in thy name to our kings, our princes, and our fathers, and to all the people of the land."

A verse with a thought booklet tells us that there is a fulness of joy found in the Lord's presence, and He will show us the path to follow to achieve that.  Psalms 16:11 "Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore."
