Daily Thoughts

In the D&C we're told that the House of the Lord is a sacred place and no unclean thing which would defile it should enter therein.  But the pure in heart who come to the Temple will feel the presence of the Lord.  D&C 97:15-17 "And inasmuch as my people build a house unto me in the name of the Lord, and do not suffer any unclean thing to come into it, that it be not defiled, my glory shall rest upon it; Yea, and my presence shall be there, for I will come into it, and all the pure in heart that shall come into it shall see God. But if it be defiled I will not come into it, and my glory shall not be there; for I will not come into unholy temples."

In the Old Testament we read that when the righteous are resurrected, they will awake to everlasting life.  But the wicked will be arise to shame.  Those who are wise will shine with brightness.  How we have lived our lives will determine what our state will be when we're resurrected. "When compared to the eternities, this earth life is such a short time of probation.  How very important it is that we choose righteously now so that we can have joy and happiness forever in the life to come. Daniel 12:2-3 "And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt. And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever."

Some verses with a thought booklet tell us that the Word of the Lord is right, He loves righteousness, and the earth is full of the goodness of the Lord.  Psalms 33:4-5 "For the word of the Lord is right; and all his works are done in truth.  He loveth righteousness and judgment: the earth is full of the goodness of the Lord."
