Daily Thoughts

In the D&C we read that the Lord will not permit the prophet or any other man to lead the church astray.  Anyone who is called to lead the church must do it by the inspiration of God or he cannot do it at all.  D&C Official Declaration 1 "The Lord will never permit me or any other man who stands as President of this Church to lead you astray. It is not in the programme. It is not in the mind of God. If I were to attempt that, the Lord would remove me out of my place, and so He will any other man who attempts to lead the children of men astray from the oracles of God and from their duty.  It matters not who lives or who dies, or who is called to lead this Church, they have got to lead it by the inspiration of Almighty God. If they do not do it that way, they cannot do it at all. "

In the New Testament we read that even though Jesus created the heavens and the earth, He was rejected by the people on the earth and they refused to know Him.  However, as many as would believe in Him and receive Him, He would give them power to become the sons of God. John 1:10-12 "He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not. He came unto his own, and his own received him not.  But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:"

A verse with a thought booklet is a simple one that we could easily memorize and repeat to ourselves whenever we're faced with a difficult or even seemingly impossible situation.  It reminds us that with Christ strengthening us, we can do anything!  Philippians 4:13 "I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me."
