Daily Thoughts

In the P of GP we read that Enoch asked the Lord if the earth would find rest after the Messiah came.  The Lord showed Enoch Jesus being lifted up upon the cross and all creation mourning. Moses 7:54-56 "And it came to pass that Enoch cried unto the Lord, saying: When the Son of Man cometh in the flesh, shall the earth rest? I pray thee, show me these things.  And the Lord said unto Enoch: Look, and he looked and beheld the Son of Man lifted up on the cross, after the manner of men;  And he heard a loud voice; and the heavens were veiled; and all the creations of God mourned; and the earth groaned; and the rocks were rent; and the saints arose, and were crowned at the right hand of the Son of Man, with crowns of glory;"

In the New Testament we read about how Paul went about preaching to both Jews and Gentiles, teaching them to repent and have faith in Jesus Christ. Even though he was beset with trials and tribulations, that didn't matter to him compared with the joys of the ministry and being able to testify of Jesus Christ and His gospel.  Acts 20:18-24 "And when they were come to him, he said unto them, Ye know, from the first day that I came into Asia, after what manner I have been with you at all seasons,  Serving the Lord with all humility of mind, and with many tears, and temptations, which befell me by the lying in wait of the Jews:  And how I kept back nothing that was profitable unto you, but have shewed you, and have taught you publickly, and from house to house, Testifying both to the Jews, and also to the Greeks, repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ.  And now, behold, I go bound in the spirit unto Jerusalem, not knowing the things that shall befall me there: Save that the Holy Ghost witnesseth in every city, saying that bonds and afflictions abide me.  But none of these things move me, neither count I my life dear unto myself, so that I might finish my course with joy, and the ministry, which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God."

A verse with a thought booklet tells us that God gives us a heart to know Him so that we can be His people and He can be our God. We need to turn to Him with our whole hearts.  Jeremiah 24:7 "And I will give them an heart to know me, that I am the Lord: and they shall be my people, and I will be their God: for they shall return unto me with their whole heart."
