In the P of GP we read that as the wicked people lifted up their hands to try to sacrifice Abraham to their false gods, Abraham lifted up his voice in prayer to God, who hearkened unto him and sent an angel to stand by him and unloose his bands. The voice of Jehovah came to Abraham and told him that He had come down to deliver him and take him away from his father's house. Because they had turned their hearts away from serving the Lord and had instead worshiped idols, the Lord would destroy those who sought to take away Abraham's life. The Lord would lead Abraham by the hand and give him the priesthood. His name would be known in the earth forever. Abraham 1:15-19 "And as they lifted up their hands upon me, that they might offer me up and take away my life, behold, I lifted up my voice unto the Lord my God, and the Lord hearkened and heard, and he filled me with the vision of the Almighty, and the angel of his presence stood by me, and immediately unloosed my bands; And his voice was unto me: Abraham, Abraham, behold, my name is Jehovah, and I have heard thee, and have come down to deliver thee, and to take thee away from thy father's house, and from all thy kinsfolk, into a strange land which thou knowest not of; And this because they have turned their hearts away from me, to worship the god of Elkenah, and the god of Libnah, and the god of Mahmackrah, and the god of Korash, and the god of Pharaoh, king of Egypt; therefore I have come down to visit them, and to destroy him who hath lifted up his hand against thee, Abraham, my son, to take away thy life. Behold, I will lead thee by my hand, and I will take thee, to put upon thee my name, even the Priesthood of thy father, and my power shall be over thee. As it was with Noah so shall it be with thee; but through thy ministry my name shall be known in the earth forever, for I am thy God."
In the New Testament we read that The Spirit bears witness to us that we are the children of God. And since we are His children, we are also heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ if we're willing to suffer with Him. We can also be glorified together. What a marvelous message this is! Romans 8:16-17 "The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God: And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together."
Some scriptures with a thought booklet tell us that there is no hiding from God. No matter where we are or where we go, God will find us. Even if we're in the darkest night, it is like bright sunshine to the Lord. We're still visible to Him. Now we can look at this as being unable to get away with sin without the Lord knowing about it. But there's another way to look at this as well. It means that eve when we're going through dark times when we feel like God is not with us, He really is. He is always aware of us even if we're not aware of Him. We may feel distant from Him, but He still loves us and is watching over us. There is no place we can go where we are out of His sight. Psalms 139:7-12 "Whither shall I go from thy spirit? or whither shall I flee from thy presence? If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there: if I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there. If I take the wings of the morning, and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea; Even there shall thy hand lead me, and thy right hand shall hold me. If I say, Surely the darkness shall cover me; even the night shall be light about me. Yea, the darkness hideth not from thee; but the night shineth as the day: the darkness and the light are both alike to thee."
