In the P of GP we read that the Lord told Abraham to leave the land of Ur and go to a land that He would show him. So he obeyed and left Ur, and took other family members with him. When the Lord tells us to do something, how quickly and unquestioningly are we willing to obey? Abraham 2:3-4 "Now the Lord had said unto me: Abraham, get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father's house, unto a land that I will show thee. Therefore I left the land of Ur, of the Chaldees, to go into the land of Canaan; and I took Lot, my brother's son, and his wife, and Sarai my wife; and also my father followed after me, unto the land which we denominated Haran."
In the New Testament we read that we have no more right to complain against God for how we were made than a painting has to complain against a painter, a pot has to complain against the potter, or anything else that was created has to complain against the person who made it. Romans 9:20 "Nay but, O man, who art thou that repliest against God? Shall the thing formed say to him that formed it, Why hast thou made me thus?"
A verse with a thought booklet goes along with this thought, telling us that we were awesomely and wonderfully made and we should praise God for it. His works are marvelous and we are one of those works! Have you taken time today to thank the Lord for your body and all the wonderful things it can do? This is something we often take for granted but it is a great blessing to be thankful for. Psalms 139:14 "I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well."
