Daily Thoughts

In the Book of Mormon we read three generations pass away in righteousness, having their garments made white by the blood of the Lamb, because of their faith in Him. Many in the fourth generation also passed away in righteousness, but then they gathered to battle against one another.    1 Nephi 12:11-15 "And the angel said unto me: Look! And I looked, and beheld three generations pass away in righteousness; and their garments were white even like unto the Lamb of God. And the angel said unto me: These are made white in the blood of the Lamb, because of their faith in him. And I, Nephi, also saw many of the fourth generation who passed away in righteousness.  And it came to pass that I saw the multitudes of the earth gathered together.  And the angel said unto me: Behold thy seed, and also the seed of thy brethren. And it came to pass that I looked and beheld the people of my seed gathered together in multitudes against the seed of my brethren; and they were gathered together to battle."

In the Old Testament we read the Lord's commandment that we should not covet.  This is a commandment that benefits us more than anybody else.  If we're content with what we have instead of wishing we had things that other people had, our lives will be much happier.  Some people are never satisfied no matter how much they have because they always want more.  Let's be grateful for what we have, and thank the Lord for it, instead of worrying about things we don't have.  Exodus 20:17 "Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any thing that is thy neighbour's."

In a verse with a thought booklet we're told to be still and know that He is God.  In our busy, noisy lives it's sometimes easy to become distracted and not be attune to the Spirit's whisperings.  But when we take time to pray, study God's words, ponder, and just be still, that is when we can come to feel God's presence in our lives.  Psalms 46:10 " Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth."
