In the Book of Mormon we read that Nephi's brothers were disputing about the things their father had seen in vision. He had seen many things which were hard to understand unless you inquired of the Lord to help you understand. But Nephi's brothers had hard hearts and refused to ask God for help. Nephi was very sad because of their hard hearts, and also because of the great wickedness that he had seen and the destruction that people would suffer because of it. Nephi was greatly afflicted knowing the destruction of his people that would come to pass due to their evil doings. 1 Nephi 15:2-5 "And it came to pass that I beheld my brethren, and they were disputing one with another concerning the things which my father had spoken unto them. For he truly spake many great things unto them, which were hard to be understood, save a man should inquire of the Lord; and they being hard in their hearts, therefore they did not look unto the Lord as they ought. And now I, Nephi, was grieved because of the hardness of their hearts, and also, because of the things which I had seen, and knew they must unavoidably come to pass because of the great wickedness of the children of men. And it came to pass that I was overcome because of my afflictions, for I considered that mine afflictions were great above all, because of the destruction of my people, for I had beheld their fall."
In the Old Testament we read that the work on the tabernacle was completed, as the Lord commanded Moses, and Moses blessed them. Exodus 39:42-43 "According to all that the Lord commanded Moses, so the children of Israel made all the work. And Moses did look upon all the work, and, behold, they had done it as the Lord had commanded, even so had they done it: and Moses blessed them."
Some verses with a thought booklet tell about the wonderful state of the world after Christ comes again--there will be so sickness or death, no sorrow or pain. We will be God's people and He ill be our God and will dwell with us. It will be a wonderful time to live for all those wh have overcome sin and are righteous. However, such will not e the case for the unbelievers who are guilty of things like murder, idolatry, and dishonesty. They will suffer fire and brimstone and the second death. This is the day of our probation and how we choose to live our lives will determine how we will spend eternity. Revelation 21:3-8 "And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God. And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away. And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful. And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely. He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son. But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death."
