Daily Thoughts

In the Book of Mormon we read that in the millennial day all men will praise the Lord and He will dwell among them.  What a joyous day that will be! 2 Nephi 22:1-6 "And in that day thou shalt say: O Lord, I will praise thee; though thou wast angry with me thine anger is turned away, and thou comfortedst me.  Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and not be afraid; for the Lord Jehovah is my strength and my song; he also has become my salvation.  Therefore, with joy shall ye draw water out of the wells of salvation.  And in that day shall ye say: Praise the Lord, call upon his name, declare his doings among the people, make mention that his name is exalted.  Sing unto the Lord; for he hath done excellent things; this is known in all the earth.  Cry out and shout, thou inhabitant of Zion; for great is the Holy One of Israel in the midst of thee."

In the Old Testament we read that inquired of the Lord whether he should go up to the Philistines and whether they would be delivered into his hands.  The Lord told him to go up and David smote them.  2 Samuel 5:18-20 "The Philistines also came and spread themselves in the valley of Rephaim.  And David inquired of the Lord, saying, Shall I go up to the Philistines? wilt thou deliver them into mine hand? And the Lord said unto David, Go up: for I will doubtless deliver the Philistines into thine hand.  And David came to Baal-perazim, and David smote them there, and said, The Lord hath broken forth upon mine enemies before me, as the breach of waters. Therefore he called the name of that place Baal-perazim."

Some scriptures with a thought booklet remind us that as God's chosen and dearly beloved people we should show forth compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, patience, and above all charity.  If we have a quarrel against someone else, we need to be forgiving, just as Jesus is forgiving of us. Colossians 3:12-14 "Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering; Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye.  And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness."
