In the Book of Mormon we read that it will be well with the righteous, but the wicked will perish. 2 Nephi 13:10-15 "Say unto the righteous that it is well with them; for they shall eat the fruit of their doings. Wo unto the wicked, for they shall perish; for the reward of their hands shall be upon them! And my people, children are their oppressors, and women rule over them. O my people, they who lead thee cause thee to err and destroy the way of thy paths. The Lord standeth up to plead, and standeth to judge the people. The Lord will enter into judgment with the ancients of his people and the princes thereof; for ye have eaten up the vineyard and the spoil of the poor in your houses. What mean ye? Ye beat my people to pieces, and grind the faces of the poor, saith the Lord God of Hosts."
In the Old Testament we read that Ruth married Boaz and gave birth to a son which her mother in law Naomi became a nurse to. Ruth was better to her mother in law than seven sons. And the baby she bore became an ancestor to David, who was an ancestor to Jesus. Ruth 4:13-17 "So Boaz took Ruth, and she was his wife: and when he went in unto her, the Lord gave her conception, and she bare a son. And the women said unto Naomi, Blessed be the Lord, which hath not left thee this day without a kinsman, that his name may be famous in Israel. And he shall be unto thee a restorer of thy life, and a nourisher of thine old age: for thy daughter in law, which loveth thee, which is better to thee than seven sons, hath born him. And Naomi took the child, and laid it in her bosom, and became nurse unto it. And the women her neighbours gave it a name, saying, There is a son born to Naomi; and they called his name Obed: he is the father of Jesse, the father of David."
Some scriptures with a thought booklet tell us that he who serves and ministers to others is truly great among them. Jesus came to serve, not to be served, and gave His life for us. If we spend our lives serving others, we will be following the example of our Savior. True greatness isn't measured by how much money we make or how fancy of a home we live in. Rather, God measures greatness by how unselfishly we serve our fellowman. Matthew 20:26-28 "But it shall not be so among you: but whosoever will be great among you, let him be your minister; And whosoever will be chief among you, let him be your servant: Even as the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many."
