In the Book of Mormon we read that Zion and her daughters will be redeemed and cleansed in the millennial day. 2 Nephi 14:1-6 "And in that day, seven women shall take hold of one man, saying: We will eat our own bread, and wear our own apparel; only let us be called by thy name to take away our reproach. In that day shall the branch of the Lord be beautiful and glorious; the fruit of the earth excellent and comely to them that are escaped of Israel. And it shall come to pass, they that are left in Zion and remain in Jerusalem shall be called holy, every one that is written among the living in Jerusalem— When the Lord shall have washed away the filth of the daughters of Zion, and shall have purged the blood of Jerusalem from the midst thereof by the spirit of judgment and by the spirit of burning. And the Lord will create upon every dwelling-place of mount Zion, and upon her assemblies, a cloud and smoke by day and the shining of a flaming fire by night; for upon all the glory of Zion shall be a defence. And there shall be a tabernacle for a shadow in the daytime from the heat, and for a place of refuge, and a covert from storm and from rain."
Yesterday in the Old Testament we read the prophesy of what would happen to Eli's family because of their wickedness. Today we read the fulfillment of this prophesy. Whatever the Lord says will happen, really will occur. 1 Samuel 4:16-18 "And the man said unto Eli, I am he that came out of the army, and I fled to day out of the army. And he said, What is there done, my son? And the messenger answered and said, Israel is fled before the Philistines, and there hath been also a great slaughter among the people, and thy two sons also, Hophni and Phinehas, are dead, and the ark of God is taken. And it came to pass, when he made mention of the ark of God, that he fell from off the seat backward by the side of the gate, and his neck brake, and he died: for he was an old man, and heavy. And he had judged Israel forty years."
A verse with a thought booklet make me wonder how anyone can be an atheist. The heavens themselves tell the glory of God and the firmament proclaims His handiwork. Just look around at the beautiful world the Lord has created and you can see that it must have had a Creator. Psalms 19:1 "The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork.
