Daily Thoughts

In the Book of Mormon we read that those who rebel against God and die in their sins will have no pat in the first resurrection. They have reason to fear and tremble.   Mosiah 15:26-27 "But behold, and fear, and tremble before God, for ye ought to tremble; for the Lord redeemeth none such that rebel against him and die in their sins; yea, even all those that have perished in their sins ever since the world began, that have wilfully rebelled against God, that have known the commandments of God, and would not keep them; these are they that have no part in the first resurrection. Therefore ought ye not to tremble? For salvation cometh to none such; for the Lord hath redeemed none such; yea, neither can the Lord redeem such; for he cannot deny himself; for he cannot deny justice when it has its claim."

In the Old Testament we read that the wicked sometimes seem to triumph as they go about doing awful things and  boast of their evil deeds.  They commit sins and think the Lord doesn't see or regard what they do.  But they are fools. How could the Lord who created the ear not be able to hear?  Or who created the eye not be able to see?  The Lord will bring their own iniquities upon the wicked and He will cut them off.  Psalms 94:3-9, 23 "Lord, how long shall the wicked, how long shall the wicked triumph?  How long shall they utter and speak hard things? and all the workers of iniquity boast themselves? They break in pieces thy people, O Lord, and afflict thine heritage.  They slay the widow and the stranger, and murder the fatherless.  Yet they say, The Lord shall not see, neither shall the God of Jacob regard it.  Understand, ye brutish among the people: and ye fools, when will ye be wise? He that planted the ear, shall he not hear? he that formed the eye, shall he not see? And he shall bring upon them their own iniquity, and shall cut them off in their own wickedness; yea, the Lord our God shall cut them off."

A verse with a thought booklet tells us that we can cry unto the Lord in our troubles and He will deliver us out of our distresses. We can turn to the Lord for help with whatever we're struggling with.  Psalms 107:6 "Then they cried unto the Lord in their trouble, and he delivered them out of their distresses."
