Daily Thoughts

In the Book of Mormon we read that one wicked king can cause much iniquity and great destruction! For example, King Noah's wickedness brought the people into bondage. It was only because o the interposition of God and the fact hat the people humbled themselves and prayed mightily that they were delivered from bondage.  God extends His arm of mercy toward those who trust in Him.  Mosiah 29:17-20 "For behold, how much iniquity doth one wicked king cause to be committed, yea, and what great destruction!  Yea, remember king Noah, his wickedness and his abominations, and also the wickedness and abominations of his people. Behold what great destruction did come upon them; and also because of their iniquities they were brought into bondage.  And were it not for the interposition of their all-wise Creator, and this because of their sincere repentance, they must unavoidably remain in bondage until now.  But behold, he did deliver them because they did humble themselves before him; and because they cried mightily unto him he did deliver them out of bondage; and thus doth the Lord work with his power in all cases among the children of men, extending the arm of mercy towards them that put their trust in him."

In the Old Testament we read that men will transgress the law and break the everlasting covenant, so a curse will devour the earth and the wicked will be burned, with few men left.  Isaiah 24:5-6 "The earth also is defiled under the inhabitants thereof; because they have transgressed the laws, changed the ordinance, broken the everlasting covenant.  Therefore hath the curse devoured the earth, and they that dwell therein are desolate: therefore the inhabitants of the earth are burned, and few men left."

A verse with a thought booklet tells us that we'll be happy if we get wisdom and understanding.  Proverbs 3:13 "Happy is the man that findeth wisdom, and the man that getteth understanding."
