In the Book of Mormon we read how Mosiah suggested that if the appointed judges were not doing a good job, they could be judged by higher judges. And if necessary, a higher judge could be judged by a number of lower judges. The sins of many people have been caused by their wicked kings, and the kings will have to answer to God for that. Mosiah 29:28-31 "And now if ye have judges, and they do not judge you according to the law which has been given, ye can cause that they may be judged of a higher judge. If your higher judges do not judge righteous judgments, ye shall cause that a small number of your lower judges should be gathered together, and they shall judge your higher judges, according to the voice of the people. And I command you to do these things in the fear of the Lord; and I command you to do these things, and that ye have no king; that if these people commit sins and iniquities they shall be answered upon their own heads. For behold I say unto you, the sins of many people have been caused by the iniquities of their kings; therefore their iniquities are answered upon the heads of their kings."
In the Old Testament we read about how in days of apostasy the gospel would be restored and a marvelous work and a wonder would come forth among the people. Isaiah 29:13-14 "Wherefore the Lord said, Forasmuch as this people draw near me with their mouth, and with their lips do honour me, but have removed their heart far from me, and their fear toward me is taught by the precept of men: Therefore, behold, I will proceed to do a marvellous work among this people, even a marvellous work and a wonder: for the wisdom of their wise men shall perish, and the understanding of their prudent men shall be hid."
Some scriptures with a thought booklet testify of the reality of Christ's atonement for our sins and His resurrection from the dead. Witnesses are cited as evidence. They saw the resurrected Lord. The story is told of a young boy caught cheating on a test. At first he denied doing so, but then admitted it when confronted with the evidence, including several children who had witnessed him copying his answers from another boy. Solid evidence is hard to deny. And we have solid evidence in the scriptures about the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Plus we have the witness of the
Spirit testifying to us personally about the truth of the gospel and the mission of Jesus Christ. As His followers, we too can testify of Him. 1 Corinthians 15:1-8 "Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures: And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve: After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep. After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles. And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time."
