In the Book of Mormon we read that Mosiah prayed about whether or not to allow his sons to go preach to the Lamanites. The Lord told him to let them go and He would deliver them out of the hands of the Lamanites. So they departed. Mosiah 28:6-9 "And king Mosiah went and inquired of the Lord if he should let his sons go up among the Lamanites to preach the word. And the Lord said unto Mosiah: Let them go up, for many shall believe on their words, and they shall have eternal life; and I will deliver thy sons out of the hands of the Lamanites. And it came to pass that Mosiah granted that they might go and do according to their request. And they took their journey into the wilderness to go up to preach the word among the Lamanites; and I shall give an account of their proceedings hereafter."
In the Old Testament we read that the Lord will punish the wicked for their iniquity and will humble the proud. Isaiah 13:11 "And I will punish the world for their evil, and the wicked for their iniquity; and I will cause the arrogancy of the proud to cease, and will lay low the haughtiness of the terrible."
Some verses with a thought booklet tell us that we can cry unto the Lord and He will hear us. Through Hi, we are saved from the pit and our soul will be brought up from the grave. Psalms 30:2-3 "O Lord my God, I cried unto thee, and thou hast healed me. O Lord, thou hast brought up my soul from the grave: thou hast kept me alive, that I should not go down to the pit."
