In the Book of Mormon we read that Zeezrom then tried to trick Amulek some more asking him questions about the nature of God and trying to trap him. Amulek testified about God and said that an angel had made those things known unto him. Alma 11:26-31 "And Zeezrom said unto him: Thou sayest there is a true and living God? And Amulek said: Yea, there is a true and living God. Now Zeezrom said: Is there more than one God? And he answered, No. Now Zeezrom said unto him again: How knowest thou these things? And he said: An angel hath made them known unto me."
In the Old Testament we read that Ezekiel saw in vision and wickedness and abominations of the people of Judah. Ezekiel 8:4-10 "And, behold, the glory of the God of Israel was there, according to the vision that I saw in the plain. Then said he unto me, Son of man, lift up thine eyes now the way toward the north. So I lifted up mine eyes the way toward the north, and behold northward at the gate of the altar this image of jealousy in the entry. He said furthermore unto me, Son of man, seest thou what they do? even the great abominations that the house of Israel committeth here, that I should go far off from my sanctuary? but turn thee yet again, and thou shalt see greater abominations. And he brought me to the door of the court; and when I looked, behold a hole in the wall. Then said he unto me, Son of man, dig now in the wall: and when I had digged in the wall, behold a door. And he said unto me, Go in, and behold the wicked abominations that they do here. So I went in and saw; and behold every form of creeping things, and abominable beasts, and all the idols of the house of Israel, portrayed upon the wall round about."
Some verses with a thought booklet tell us to be quick to listen but slow to speak and slow to become angry. Anger does not produce God's righteousness. Do we really take time to listen to what the other person is saying and try t understand them before we start talking? Do we sometimes interrupt them before they've even finished what they want to say because we're so eager to get our two cents in? Perhaps if we'd take time to listen we'd be much more likely to say the right things. And we'd be much less likely to speak harsh, angry words that cause a lot of damage. Let's all resolve to do better at being quick to listen but slow to speak and slow to become angry. James 1:19-20 "Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath: For the wrath of man worketh not the righteousness of God."
