In the Book of Mormon we read that the high priests were called and ordained according to their faith and repentance and their garments were washed white through the blood of the Lamb. After they had been made clean and spotless before God and been sanctified by the Holy Ghost, they could not look upon sin except with abhorrence. We need to humble ourselves before God and repent of our sins so that we may also enter into our rest. Alma 13:10-15 "Now, as I said concerning the holy order, or this high priesthood, there were many who were ordained and became high priests of God; and it was on account of their exceeding faith and repentance, and their righteousness before God, they choosing to repent and work righteousness rather than to perish; Therefore they were called after this holy order, and were sanctified, and their garments were washed white through the blood of the Lamb. Now they, after being sanctified by the Holy Ghost, having their garments made white, being pure and spotless before God, could not look upon sin save it were with abhorrence; and there were many, exceedingly great many, who were made pure and entered into the rest of the Lord their God. And now, my brethren, I would that ye should humble yourselves before God, and bring forth fruit meet for repentance, that ye may also enter into that rest. Yea, humble yourselves even as the people in the days of Melchizedek, who was also a high priest after this same order which I have spoken, who also took upon him the high priesthood forever. And it was this same Melchizedek to whom Abraham paid tithes; yea, even our father Abraham paid tithes of one-tenth part of all he possessed."
In the Old Testament we read that all iniquity will be discovered and come to remembrance and those who have sinned will be taken with the hand. Ezekiel 21:24 "Therefore thus saith the Lord God; Because ye have made your iniquity to be remembered, in that your transgressions are discovered, so that in all your doings your sins do appear; because, I say, that ye are come to remembrance, ye shall be taken with the hand."
A verse with a thought booklet tells us that if we have trust in the living God who is our Savior, we will be willing to both work and suffer reproach. 1 Timothy 4:10 "For therefore we both labour and suffer reproach, because we trust in the living God, who is the Saviour of all men, specially of those that believe."
