In the Book of Mormon we read that Zeezrom was very troubled over the evil effect his lying words had had on the people.  He was riddled with guilt. He cried out to the people that he was guilty and that Alma and Amulek were innocent, but the people just reviled him and said he was possessed by the devil.  All those who believed in the words of Alma and Amulek were cast out. All those who believed were gathered together, with their wives and children, and cast into the fire, along with their scriptures.  Alma 14:6-8 "And it came to pass that Zeezrom was astonished at the words which had been spoken; and he also knew concerning the blindness of the minds, which he had caused among the people by his lying words; and his soul began to be harrowed up under a consciousness of his own guilt; yea, he began to be encircled about by the pains of hell.  And it came to pass that he began to cry unto the people, saying: Behold, I am guilty, and these men are spotless before God. And he began to plead for them from that time forth; but they reviled him, saying: Art thou also possessed with the devil? And they spit upon him, and cast him out from among them, and also all those who believed in the words which had been spoken by Alma and Amulek; and they cast them out, and sent men to cast stones at them.  And they brought their wives and children together, and whosoever believed or had been taught to believe in the word of God they caused that they should be cast into the fire; and they also brought forth their records which contained the holy scriptures, and cast them into the fire also, that they might be burned and destroyed by fire."

In the Old Testament we read that Tyre with all it's beauty, its merchants and builders, will fall and lose all its riches.  There will be great lamentation over the fall of Tyre and the day of its ruin.  Ezekiel 27:1-7, 27-36 "The word of the Lord came again unto me, saying,  Now, thou son of man, take up a lamentation for Tyrus;  And say unto Tyrus, O thou that art situate at the entry of the sea, which art a merchant of the people for many isles, Thus saith the Lord God; O Tyrus, thou hast said, I am of perfect beauty.  Thy borders are in the midst of the seas, thy builders have perfected thy beauty.  They have made all thy ship boards of fir trees of Senir: they have taken cedars from Lebanon to make masts for thee.  Of the oaks of Bashan have they made thine oars; the company of the Ashurites have made thy benches of ivory, brought out of the isles of Chittim.  Fine linen with broidered work from Egypt was that which thou spreadest forth to be thy sail; blue and purple from the isles of Elishah was that which covered thee. Thy riches, and thy fairs, thy merchandise, thy mariners, and thy pilots, thy calkers, and the occupiers of thy merchandise, and all thy men of war, that are in thee, and in all thy company which is in the midst of thee, shall fall into the midst of the seas in the day of thy ruin. 

The suburbs shall shake at the sound of the cry of thy pilots.  And all that handle the oar, the mariners, and all the pilots of the sea, shall come down from their ships, they shall stand upon the land;  And shall cause their voice to be heard against thee, and shall cry bitterly, and shall cast up dust upon their heads, they shall wallow themselves in the ashes:  And they shall make themselves utterly bald for thee, and gird them with sackcloth, and they shall weep for thee with bitterness of heart and bitter wailing. And in their wailing they shall take up a lamentation for thee, and lament over thee, saying, What city is like Tyrus, like the destroyed in the midst of the sea?  When thy wares went forth out of the seas, thou filledst many people; thou didst enrich the kings of the earth with the multitude of thy riches and of thy merchandise.  In the time when thou shalt be broken by the seas in the depths of the waters thy merchandise and all thy company in the midst of thee shall fall.  All the inhabitants of the isles shall be astonished at thee, and their kings shall be sore afraid, they shall be troubled in their countenance. 6 The merchants among the people shall hiss at thee; thou shalt be a terror, and never shalt be any more."

Some verses with a thought booklet tell us that there will be a new heaven and a new earth and the old earth will pass away.  In this new world, God will wipe away all our tears and there will be no more pain, sickness o death.  What a wonderful word this will be.  When we're going through trials and tribulations in our lives, we can know that no matter what we go through, there will be a happy ending!  It is coming!  We just need to patiently endure.  Don't you just love a story with a happy ending?  Revelation 21:1-5 " And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.  And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.  And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.  And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful."
