In the Book of Mormon we read that God imparts His word by angels to men, women, and children. Faith is not a perfect knowledge. We first need to awake and arouse our faculties to experiment upon the word. We need to have a desire to believe, which is the first step to planting a seed in our heart. Alma 32:23-27 "And now, he imparteth his word by angels unto men, yea, not only men but women also. Now this is not all; little children do have words given unto them many times, which confound the wise and the learned. And now, my beloved brethren, as ye have desired to know of me what ye shall do because ye are afflicted and cast out—now I do not desire that ye should suppose that I mean to judge you only according to that which is true— For I do not mean that ye all of you have been compelled to humble yourselves; for I verily believe that there are some among you who would humble themselves, let them be in whatsoever circumstances they might. Now, as I said concerning faith—that it was not a perfect knowledge—even so it is with my words. Ye cannot know of their surety at first, unto perfection, any more than faith is a perfect knowledge. But behold, if ye will awake and arouse your faculties, even to an experiment upon my words, and exercise a particle of faith, yea, even if ye can no more than desire to believe, let this desire work in you, even until ye believe in a manner that ye can give place for a portion of my words."
In the New Testament we read that whatever we pray for in faith will be granted unto us. We also need to come before the Lord with clean hearts, forgiving others and not holding any grudges against them. Just as we forgive others, the Lord will forgive us. Elsewhere in scriptures we're also told that we'll receive whatever we pray for that is expedient for us. So we need to have faith, have clean hearts, and pray for what is best for us in order to get what we ask for. Only God really knows what is best for us and we need to trust in Him that He'll grant our requests in the way that will be most beneficial, even if we don't understand it. Mark 11:22-25 "And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God. For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith. Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them. And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses."
Some verses with a thought booklet explain that it' not good to be alone. If we walk alone and fall, there is no one up help us get up. If we sleep alone, there is no one to keep us warm. If someone attacks us, having someone with us can help us prevail against them. The Lord meant for us to love and help each other. I'm one who likes to be self-sufficient and do things on my own. But there are times I need help. There are times we all need help in handling the challenges of life. We should not hesitate to seek out a brother or sister willing and ready to assist us. There are times when it's just not possible to do it all alone. Ecclesiastes 4:9-12 "Two are better than one; because they have a good reward for their labour. For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow: but woe to him that is alone when he falleth; for he hath not another to help him up. Again, if two lie together, then they have heat: but how can one be warm alone? And if one prevail against him, two shall withstand him; and a threefold cord is not quickly broken."
