Daily Thoughts

In the Book of Mormon we read that Amulek likewise testified of Jesus Christ. He told them to have faith and patience. The prophets have testified that redemption comes thorough the Son of God who would come among men to take upon Him the transgressions of His people and atone for their sins.  Alma 34:1-8 "And now it came to pass that after Alma had spoken these words unto them he sat down upon the ground, and Amulek arose and began to teach them, saying:  My brethren, I think that it is impossible that ye should be ignorant of the things which have been spoken concerning the coming of Christ, who is taught by us to be the Son of God; yea, I know that these things were taught unto you bountifully before your dissension from among us. And as ye have desired of my beloved brother that he should make known unto you what ye should do, because of your afflictions; and he hath spoken somewhat unto you to prepare your minds; yea, and he hath exhorted you unto faith and to patience—  Yea, even that ye would have so much faith as even to plant the word in your hearts, that ye may try the experiment of its goodness.  And we have beheld that the great question which is in your minds is whether the word be in the Son of God, or whether there shall be no Christ.  And ye also beheld that my brother has proved unto you, in many instances, that the word is in Christ unto salvation.  My brother has called upon the words of Zenos, that redemption cometh through the Son of God, and also upon the words of Zenock; and also he has appealed unto Moses, to prove that these things are true.  And now, behold, I will testify unto you of myself that these things are true. Behold, I say unto you, that I do know that Christ shall come among the children of men, to take upon him the transgressions of his people, and that he shall atone for the sins of the world; for the Lord God hath spoken it."

In the New Testament we read about how Jesus first appeared to a few people after He was resurrected.  The people who saw Him tried to tell others that Jesus was risen from the dead, but most would not believe them. Then He appeared to His disciples and chastised them for their unbelief and hard hearts.  He instructed them to go to all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. Those who would be willing to believe and be baptized would be saved but those who would not would be damned.  Mark 16:9-16 "Now when Jesus was risen early the first day of the week, he appeared first to Mary Magdalene, out of whom he had cast seven devils. And she went and told them that had been with him, as they mourned and wept. And they, when they had heard that he was alive, and had been seen of her, believed not. After that he appeared in another form unto two of them, as they walked, and went into the country. And they went and told it unto the residue: neither believed they them. Afterward he appeared unto the eleven as they sat at meat, and upbraided them with their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they believed not them which had seen him after he was risen.  And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.  He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned."

A verse with a thought booklet talks about speaking the truth in love.  It's not only important to speak the truth, but to do it with love as well.   Ephesians 4:15 "But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ:"
