In the Book of Mormon we read Shiblon had shown great patience in dealing with the Zoramites and had suffered much persecution under their hands. When we place our trust in God, we'll be delivered from our tribulations and be lifted up at the last day. Alma 38:3-5 "I say unto you, my son, that I have had great joy in thee already, because of thy faithfulness and thy diligence, and thy patience and thy long-suffering among the people of the Zoramites. For I know that thou wast in bonds; yea, and I also know that thou wast stoned for the word's sake; and thou didst bear all these things with patience because the Lord was with thee; and now thou knowest that the Lord did deliver thee. And now my son, Shiblon, I would that ye should remember, that as much as ye shall put your trust in God even so much ye shall be delivered out of your trials, and your troubles, and your afflictions, and ye shall be lifted up at the last day."
In the New Testament we read about how after Jesus was resurrected, the women who visited His tomb were told by two angels that He had risen, and asked them why they were searching for the living among the dead. They also reminded the women that Jesus had prophesied of his crucifixion and resurrection. Luke 24:1-8 " Now upon the first day of the week, very early in the morning, they came unto the sepulchre, bringing the spices which they had prepared, and certain others with them. And they found the stone rolled away from the sepulchre. And they entered in, and found not the body of the Lord Jesus. And it came to pass, as they were much perplexed thereabout, behold, two men stood by them in shining garments: And as they were afraid, and bowed down their faces to the earth, they said unto them, Why seek ye the living among the dead? He is not here, but is risen: remember how he spake unto you when he was yet in Galilee, Saying, The Son of man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again. And they remembered his words,"
Some verses with a thought booklet should encourage us to be able to stand up against other people in defending our faith. If we confess the Lord before other people, He will confess us before the angels of God. But if we deny Him, He'll deny us. Luke 12:8-9 "Also I say unto you, Whosoever shall confess me before men, him shall the Son of man also confess before the angels of God: But he that denieth me before men shall be denied before the angels of God."
