In the Old Testament I read that great peace comes to those who love the law. Indeed, a sure way to chase peace out of your life is to start breaking the commandments of God. Ps. 119: 165 "Great peace have they which love thy law: and nothing shall offend them."
In the Book of Mormon I read that in the millennial day all men will praise the Lord and He'll dwell among them. What a glorious day that will be, and something to look forward to. 2 Ne. 22: 1-6 "And in that day thou shalt say: O Lord, I will praise thee; though thou wast angry with me thine anger is turned away, and thou comfortedest me. Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and not be afraid; for the Lord Jehovah is my strength and my song; he also has become my salvation. Therefore, with joy shall ye draw water out of the wells of salvation. And in that day shall ye say: Praise the Lord, call upon his name, declare his doings among the people, make mention that his name is exalted. Sing unto the Lord; for he hath done excellent things; this is known in all the earth. Cry out and shout, thou inhabitant of Zion; for great is the Holy One of Israel in the midst of thee."
Some verses with a thought booklet talk about the parables of the lost sheep and the lost coin. So likewise there is great joy in heaven over one lost sinner who repents and comes unto God. The story is told of two little girls playing hide and seek. One does such a good job of hiding (in the bathtub with the curtain drawn) that the other little girl couldn't find her. Finally the little girl who as hiding called out "I'm in here and I want someone to find me." It's no fun being lost. It feels empty and sad. Let's be on the lookout for lost people who need to find the Lord and help them find their way. And if we've lost the way ourselves, we need to repent and come back into the fold of God so that the angels of heaven can rejoice over our return. Luke 15: 3-10 "And he spake this parable unto them, saying, What man of you, having an hundred sheep, if he lose one of them, doth not leave the ninety and nine ain the wilderness, and go after that which is lost, until he find it? And when he hath found it, he layeth it on his shoulders, rejoicing. And when he cometh home, he calleth together his friends and neighbours, saying unto them, Rejoice with me; for I have found my sheep which was lost. I say unto you, that likewise joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repenteth, more than over ninety and nine just persons, which need no repentance. Either what woman having ten pieces of silver, if she lose one piece, doth not light a candle, and sweep the house, and seek diligently till she find it? And when she hath found it, she calleth her friends and her neighbours together, saying, Rejoice with me; for I have found the piece which I had lost. Likewise, I say unto you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner that repenteth."
