In the Old Testament I read that if the Lord marked all iniquity, no one could stand. However, the Lord is merciful and forgiving and He will redeem us from our iniquities. We can have hope and wait upon the Lord. Ps. 130: 3-8 "If thou, Lord, shouldest mark iniquities, O Lord, who shall stand? But there is forgiveness with thee, that thou mayest be feared. I await for the Lord, my soul doth wait, and in his word do I hope. My soul waiteth for the Lord more than they that watch for the morning: I say, more than they that watch for the morning. Let Israel hope in the Lord: for with the Lord there is mercy, and with him is plenteous redemption. And he shall redeem Israel from all his iniquities."
In the Book of Mormon I read a prophecy about Jesus manifested Himself to people in the flesh, but because of the hardness of their hearts they rejected Him and crucified Him. However, on the third day He rose from the dead with healing in His wings and all those who believe in Him will be saved in the Kingdom of God. 2 Ne. 25: 12-13 " But, behold, they shall have wars, and rumors of wars; and when the day cometh that the Only Begotten of the Father, yea, even the Father of heaven and of earth, shall manifest himself unto them in the flesh, behold, they will reject him, because of their iniquities, and the hardness of their hearts, and the stiffness of their necks. Behold, they will crucify him; and after he is laid in a sepulchre for the space of three days he shall rise from the dead, with healing in his wings; and all those who shall believe on his name shall be saved in the kingdom of God. Wherefore, my soul delighteth to prophesy concerning him, for I have seen his day, and my heart doth magnify his holy name."
A verse from a thought booklet tells us that the Lord will enlarge our feet from under us so that we do not slip. We can depend on the Lord do help us through whatever we need to go through, and He will keep us from falling. Sometimes when walking on snow or ice I'm so afraid of falling that I can almost cause myself to fall. But when I put on my YakTrax, some little chains that hook to the bottom of my boots, I can walk with confidence and don't have to worry about falling. Can we have as much confidence in receiving help from the Lord as I get from my YakTrax? If we can have faith that He will be there for us, we can walk through life with confidence, not constantly fearful of a fall. 2 Sam. 22: 37 "Thou hast enlarged my steps under me; so that my feet did not slip."
