Daily Thoughts

In the Old Testament I read that if we're righteous we can be bold and confident, but the wicked flee even when no one is after them. If we're doing something wrong, it can indeed make us paranoid and keep us looking over our shoulder in fear. But if our life is on the path it should be, we have nothing to fear. Prov. 28: 1 "The wicked flee when no man pursueth: but the righteous are bold as a lion."

In the Book of Mormon I read about how we will all be judged according to our works. If we have been righteous, we will reap salvation through the power and deliverance of Jesus Christ. But if we have been evil, we'll reap damnation according to the power and captivation of the devil. The choice is ours! Alma 9: 28 "Therefore, prepare ye the way of the Lord, for the time is at hand that all men shall reap a reward of their works, according to that which they have been—if they have been righteous they shall reap the salvation of their souls, according to the power and deliverance of Jesus Christ; and if they have been evil they shall reap the damnation of their souls, according to the power and captivation of the devil."

A verse with a thought booklet tells us that Jesus always did the things that pleased His Father and His Father was with Him and did not leave Him alone. Likewise, if we do what pleases the Lord, He will ever be with us and not leave us alone. John 8: 29 "And he that sent me is with me: the Father hath not left me alone; for I do always those things that please him."
