Daily Thoughts

In the Old Testament it says that if we help the hungry and afflicted, we will have light in our lives and the Lord will guide us continually and satisfy us with our needs and we'll be like a watered garden whose water does not fail. Isa. 58: 10-11 "And if thou draw out thy soul to the hungry, and satisfy the afflicted soul; then shall thy light rise in obscurity, and thy darkness be as the noonday: And the Lord shall aguide thee continually, and satisfy thy soul in drought, and make fat thy bones: and thou shalt be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters fail not."

In the Book of Mormon I read that prophets all down through the ages, both before and after Abraham, testified of Jesus Christ. Hel. 8: 16-20 "And now behold, Moses did not only testify of these things, but also all the holy prophets, from his days even to the days of Abraham. Yea, and behold, Abraham saw of his coming, and was filled with gladness and did rejoice. Yea, and behold I say unto you, that Abraham not only knew of these things, but there were many before the days of Abraham who were called by the order of God; yea, even after the order of his Son; and this that it should be shown unto the people, a great many thousand years before his coming, that even redemption should come unto them. And now I would that ye should know, that even since the days of Abraham there have been many prophets that have testified these things; yea, behold, the prophet Zenos did testify boldly; for the which he was slain. And behold, also Zenock, and also Ezias, and also Isaiah, and Jeremiah, (Jeremiah being that same prophet who testified of the destruction of Jerusalem) and now we know that Jerusalem was destroyed according to the words of Jeremiah. O then why not the Son of God come, according to his prophecy?"

Some verses with a thought booklet say that we ourselves were once foolish, disobedient, deceived, and enslaved by all kinds of passions, being filled with envy and hatred. But then the kindness and love of God appeared. Allowing the Lord and His atoning sacrifice into our lives makes all the difference, and completely changes the type of person that we are. Titus 3: 3-4 "For we ourselves also were sometimes foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving divers lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, and hating one another. But after that the kindness and love of God our Saviour toward man appeared,"
