Daily Thoughts

In the Old Testament we read that the Lord is good to those who seek for Him and wait for Him. We should hope for and quietly wait for the salvation of the Lord. Lam. 3: 25-26 "The Lord is good unto them that wait for him, to the soul that seeketh him. It is good that a man should both hope and quietly wait for the salvation of the Lord."

In the D&C I read that no one should assist in the work of the Lord unless they are humble, have faith and hope, and are full of love and charity. These are qualities we need to posses to have the Lord entrust His work to our care. If we're going to help others we need to be examples of faith and humility. And we can't hope to teach others without being loving and compassionate toward them. D&C 12: 8 "And no one can assist in this work except he shall be humble and full of love, having faith, hope, and charity, being temperate in all things, whatsoever shall be entrusted to his care."

Some verses with a thought booklet tell us that if we do not to cast away our confidence in the Lord and we will receive a great reward. We need to have patience. It is after we do the will of the Lord that we'll receive the promise. Heb. 10: 35-36 "Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompence of reward. For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise."
