In the Old Testament I read a prophetic verse about how the Jews will ask Jesus at His Second Coming what are the wounds in His hands, and He will reply that He received them in the house of His friends. Zech. 13: 6 "And one shall say unto him, What are these wounds in thine hands? Then he shall answer, Those with which I was wounded in the house of my friends."
In the Pearl of Great Price I read that the Lord told Enoch to preach repentance unto the people and baptize them. Moses 7: 10-11 "And the Lord said unto me: Go to this people, and say unto them—Repent, lest I come out and smite them with a curse, and they die. And he gave unto me a commandment that I should baptize in the name of the Father, and of the Son, which is full of grace and truth, and of the Holy Ghost, which beareth record of the Father and the Son."
Some verses with a thought booklet tell us to set our priorities straight. It's common to worry about material things, but we need to seek first God's Kingdom. If we do that, the other things we need will be added unto us. I've noticed that in my own life. When I put God first in my life, other things seem to fall into place. Matt. 6: 31-34 "Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof."
