Daily Thoughts

In the Old Testament the question is asked, who will abide the day of the coming of the Lord? He shall refine and purify, like silver and gold are refined and purified. He will come in judgment and be a swift witness against the adulterers, sorcerers, false swearers, and those who oppress the widows and fatherless. Indeed, who will abide the day of His coming? Will it be us?   Mal. 3: 2-6 "But who may abide the day of his coming? and who shall stand when he appeareth? for he is like a refiner's fire, and like fullers' soap: And he shall sit as a refiner and purifier of silver: and he shall purify the sons of Levi, and purge them as gold and silver, that they may offer unto the Lord an offering in righteousness. Then shall the offering of Judah and Jerusalem be pleasant unto the Lord, as in the days of old, and as in former years. And I will come near to you to judgment; and I will be a swift witness against the sorcerers, and against the adulterers, and against false swearers, and against those that oppress the hireling in his wages, the widow, and the fatherless, and that turn aside the stranger from his right, and fear not me, saith the Lord of hosts. For I am the Lord, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed."

In the Pearl of Great Price I read about how the Lord talked to Abraham face to face and showed unto him all the creations that He had made. Can you imagine what a marvelous manifestation this must have been? Abr. 3: 11-12 "Thus I, Abraham, talked with the Lord, face to face, as one man talketh with another; and he told me of the works which his hands had made; And he said unto me: My son, my son (and his hand was stretched out), behold I will show you all these. And he put his hand upon mine eyes, and I saw those things which his hands had made, which were many; and they multiplied before mine eyes, and I could not see the end thereof."

A verse from a thought booklet tells us to trust in the Lord at all times and pour out our hearts before Him. Ps. 62: 8 "Trust in him at all times; ye people, pour out your heart before him: God is a refuge for us. Selah."
