Daily Thoughts

In the Old Testament I read that those who depart out of the right way and cause others to stumble are contemptible and base. We need to keep our covenants! And we need to make sure we don't drag other people down. Mal. 2: 8-9 "But ye are departed out of the way; ye have caused many to stumble at the law; ye have corrupted the covenant of Levi, saith the Lord of hosts. Therefore have I also made you contemptible and base before all the people, according as ye have not kept my ways, but have been partial in the law."

In the Pearl of Great Price we're told how obedient the creations of God are to Him. The wind and the sea and the fire all obey Him. If He tells a mountain to depart, it does so instantly. If all these creations of God obey Him so well, why can't we do so also? Abr. 2: 7 "For I am the Lord thy God; I dwell in heaven; the earth is my footstool; I stretch my hand over the sea, and it obeys my voice; I cause the wind and the fire to be my chariot; I say to the mountains—Depart hence—and behold, they are taken away by a whirlwind, in an instant, suddenly."

Some scriptures with a thought booklet tell us that the righteous will be rewarded and the wicked punished. What we do and how we live our lives have consequences! Isa. 3: 10-11 "Say ye to the righteous, that it shall be well with him: for they shall eat the fruit of their doings. Woe unto the wicked! it shall be ill with him: for the reward of his hands shall be given him."
