In the Book of Mormon we're told that men are that they might have joy. We're not meant to be unhappy! And if we keep the commandments and stay close to the Lord, that is the pathway to joy. 2 Ne. 2: 25 "Adam fell that men might be; and men are, that they might have joy."
In the New Testament I read about how the preaching of Paul and other disciples was spreading the gospel. Churches were established in the faith and increased in number daily. We, too, need to spread the gospel in whatever we can. Acts 16: 5 "And so were the churches established in the faith, and increased in number daily."
Some scriptures with a thought booklet tell us that even though a life of wickedness brings many sorrows, there is joy and gladness when we trust in the Lord. Indeed, wickedness never was happiness. Psalms 32:10-11 "Many sorrows shall be to the wicked: but he that trusteth in the Lord, mercy shall compass him about. Be glad in the Lord, and rejoice, ye righteous: and shout for joy, all ye that are upright in heart."
