In the Book of Mormon I read that the Lord is a God of miracles and is the same yesterday, today, and forever. He works according to men's faith. Just as He performed miracles in days of old that we can read about in scriptures, He will provide miracles in our lives today. If we aren't seeing miracles in our lives, it isn't because God has changed, it's because we're lacking in faith. 2 Ne. 27: 23 "For behold, I am God; and I am a God of miracles; and I will show unto the world that I am the same yesterday, today, and forever; and I work not among the children of men save it be according to their faith."
In the New Testament I read that we need to set our affections on and seek for things above, rather than on earthly things. Colossians 3:1-2 "If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth."
A verse with a thought booklet tell us that faith will shield us from the fierty darts of the wicked. Faith is actually a protection to us! Ephesians 6:16 "Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked."
