Daily Thoughts

In the Book of Mormon I read that the people Mosiah discovered had not had records with them so their language had become corrupt and they'd lost knowledge of their Creator. How very important the scriptures are! Without them, we soon lose spiritual knowledge. Omni 1:17 "And at the time that Mosiah discovered them, they had become exceedingly numerous. Nevertheless, they had had many wars and serious contentions, and had fallen by the sword from time to time; and their language had become corrupted; and they had brought no records with them; and they denied the being of their Creator; and Mosiah, nor the people of Mosiah, could understand them."

In the New Testament we read about the connection between loving God and loving our fellowmen. We cannot love God and hate our brother. If we claim to do so, we are liars. How can we love God, who we haven't seen, and hate our brother, who we have seen? But if we love God, we'll love our brother also. And it's a commandment to love both! 1 John 4:20-21 "If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen? And this commandment have we from him, That he who loveth God love his brother also."

A verse with a thought booklet tells us that God is our refuge and strength and gives us ever present help in times of trouble. When we're faced with trials and difficulties, we can turn to Him. We can depend on Him to help us in every kind of trouble. No matter what kind of life situation we are going through, we have secure protection in the Lord. Psalms 46:1 "God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble."
